The Operating Budget details the expenditures for the County's day-today operation. The Operating Budget contains the perating expenses for all County departments and agencies for the fiscal year. These expenses include the costs for personnel, supplies, equipment, and maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings.

The Adopted Operating Budget represents the spending plan for the County's operation during a specific fiscal year. The budget process consists of preparing the budget, adopting the budget and monitoring the budget. Once a budget is adopted, it must be monitored to compare actual expenses and revenues with the projected estimate contained in the budget. Where variance occurs, corrective action may be required. In addition, the budget must be reviewed in terms of revisions in County policies, changes in service demands, revisions in federal and state funding, and shifts in the fiscal environment.
