Local Law 102 enacted in 2015 requires the Department of Education of the New York City School District to submit to the Council an annual report concerning physical education for the prior school year.
This report provides information about average frequency and average total minutes per week of physical education as defined in Local Law 102 as reported through the 2017-18 STARS database. It is important to note that schools self-report their scheduling information in STARS. The report also includes information regarding the number and ratio of certified physical education instructors and designated physical education instructional space.

2015 -2016 Bi annual Report -Pursuant to Local Law 93 of 2015, the Department of Education is required to provide reports on student discipline data (suspension data) to the City Council twice a year (October 31 and March 31). The October reporting requires citywide suspension data by month for the second half of the academic year, January through June. Per the legislation and in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), any value from zero (0) to five (5) has been redacted.

NYC School Survey results contribute 10% - 15% of a school's Progress Report grade (the exact contribution to the Progress Report is dependant on school type). Survey questions assess the community's opinions on academic expectations, communication, engagement, and safety and respect. School leaders can use survey results to better understand their own school's strengths and target areas for improvement

2018-2019 Class Size Citywide report for kindergarten through eighth grades by program type, number of students, number of classes and average class size.

Local Law 15 (2016) requires that the NYCDOE provide citywide Health Education Instructor data, disaggregated by community school district, city council district, and each individual school Data reported in this report is from the 2017-18 school year. Counts of the total number of unique instructors attending professional development is from 2016 to 2018 (2 years). In order to calculate the percentage of instructors attending multiple sessions of professional development, the NYCDOE used the 2017-18 number of instructors as the denominator to reflect that instructors could have attended professional development in years prior.

Local Law 15 enacted in 2016 requires the Department of Education of the New York City School District to submit to the Council information regarding Health Education instructor data. This report inlcudes (i) the total number of health instructors
employed by the department, disaggregated by full-time and part-time instructors; (ii) the total number of instructors assigned to teach at least one health education class.
All information is aggregated citywide, as well as disaggregated by community school district and, when available, by school.
YABC, D75 home and hospital, D79 and charter schools are excluded from this report.
