The NYC Department of City Planning’s (DCP) Housing Database contains all NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) approved housing construction and demolition jobs filed or completed in NYC since January 1, 2010. It includes all three construction job types that add or remove residential units: new buildings, major alterations, and demolitions, and can be used to determine the change in legal housing units across time and space. Records in the Database are geocoded to the greatest level of precision possible, subject to numerous quality assurance and control checks, recoded for usability, and joined to other housing data sources relevant to city planners and analysts.

The Pseudo Lots dataset contains polygons of locations that have an address and/or a structure with a building identification number (BIN), but for which there is no tax lot. Pseudo lots may exist for locations with open space, subway or train stations, skyways, tunnels, or other miscellaneous features. Note that this is not a comprehensive dataset of locations with these types of features.

A Lower Density Growth Management Area is an area designated in the Zoning Resolution where new developments must provide more off-street parking, larger yards and more open space than would otherwise be required in the applicable zoning districts In Staten Island and Bronx Community District 10.

Sites that have generated or received material from the NYC Clean Soil Bank, which enables the reuse within NYC of clean sediment from deep excavations.

• One line of data represents the location of a canine waste bag dispenser, including what surface it is mounted on, who refills it, who made it, and when it was installed.
• Data is collected by analysts located in each borough and collated by Parks’ Innovation & Performance Management team.
• Data is updated as needed using an ArcGIS Online web application.
• Records for dispensers that are no longer active have been removed
• Not all records have an installation date. Records will only have an OMPPropID and SubProperty name if they fall within the bounds of a sub property.

This data set consists of 11 areas identified as Target Neighborhoods in Universal Solicitation of Broadband (USB).

Some geometries were created manually, while others relied on 'Fuzzy String Matching'. This process relied on a join to DCP's Facilities Database and DPR's Parks Properties to match project descriptions to physical locations.

Net change in housing units arising from new buildings, demolitions, or alterations for specified geography (Census Block, Census Tract, City Council district, Community District, Community District Tabulation Area (CDTA), Neighborhood Tabulation Area (NTA). These tables are aggregated from the DCP Housing Database, which is derived from Department of Buildings (DOB)-approved housing construction and demolition jobs filed or completed in NYC since January 1, 2010. Net housing unit change is calculated as the sum of all three construction job types that add or remove residential units: new buildings, major alterations, and demolitions, and can be used to determine the change in legal housing units across time and space.
