In response to Local Law No. 1486-A. Reports on school applications, offers of admission, enrollment, and school seats available. All available seats, applicants, and offers of admissions are for Main Round (for pre-K, Kindergarten, Middle School and High School) admissions only. Data is only included for schools that participate in centralized admissions processes.

The New York State calculation method was first adopted for the Cohort of 2001 (Class 2005). The cohort consists of al students who first entered 9th grade in a given school year (e.g., the cohort of 2006 entered 9th grade in 2006-2007 school year). Graduates are defined as those students earning either a local or regents diploma and exclude those earning either a special education (IEP) diploma for GED. In order to comply with FERPA regulations on public reporting of education outcomes, rows with a cohort of 20 or fewer students are suppressed. Due to small number of students identified as Native American or Multi-Racial these ethnicities are not reported on the Ethnicity tab, however these students are included in the counts on all other tabs.

This report includes Counts of students on summer school registration file broken out by borough, district and subgroups as of June, 2020. The counts represent traditional summer school registration. These numbers exclude the counts of students with 12-month IEPs who were registered for special education summer services and students who were registered for the DREAM program. They also exclude charter school and nonpublic school students  who were enrolled in DOE programs.

A spreadsheet of the data shared in the printed 2019 Pre-K Admissions Guide distributed by the Office of Student Enrollment. The directory includes the schools participating in the Fall 2019 Pre-K for All application process as of December 2018.

School-level New York City Results on New York State Regents Exams, testing and score data includes all administrations of the regents exam: January, June and August. It reports the highest score for each regents exam for each school year. School DBNs are as of June 30th of each school year. School name an school type reflect most recent data available. College & career readiness scores only apply to ELA and Math exams and otherwise are labeled as "NA". Regents exams include:
- English Regents exam score of 75+
- Any Math Regent exam score 0f 80+
- Common Core- aligned Algebra I or Geometry Regents exam score of 70+ or Algebra II / Trigonometry exam score of 65+.
Students with disabilities are defined as any child with an IEP as of the end of the school year.

School Allocation Memorandums FY 2016-2017

For fall 2020, when buildings reopened  and students were able to return on-site, schools were advised to review any requests from families submitted via the remote learning device form and conduct an assessment of all of their devices (including recent purchases) in order to assign available devices to families in need .  For any families where the school could not meet the need, schools confirmed that a device was needed by requesting that a device be prepared for that student after the City ordered the additional 100K ipads.  Once receiving this confirmation, the central office prepared and shipped the device.   

New York City Department of Education 2016 - 2017 Computer Science Report ,
Local Law 177 enacted in 2016 requires the Department of Education of the New York City School District to submit to the Council an annual report concerning computer science education for the prior school year.

This report provides information about the number of computer science programs offered and the number of students enrolled in those programs as defined in Local Law 177 as reported through the 2016-2017 STARS database. It is important to note that schools self-report their computer science course information in STARS. This report also includes information regarding the number and ratio of certified STEM instructors, the department's STEM Institute, the nature of the district's computer science initiatives and the total available bandwidth in each school.

Data is used to identify the zoning for the Elementary School grades.

Every year, all parents, all teachers, and students in grades 6 - 12 take the NYC School Survey. The survey ranks among the largest surveys of any kind ever conducted nationally. Survey results provide insight into a school's learning environment and contribute a measure of diversification that goes beyond test scores on the Progress Report. NYC School Survey results contribute 10% - 15% of a school's Progress Report grade (the exact contribution to the Progress Report is dependent on school type). Survey questions assess the community's opinions on academic expectations, communication, engagement, and safety and respect. School leaders can use survey results to better understand their own school's strengths and target areas for improvement. The NYC School Survey helps school leaders understand what key members of the school community say about the learning environment at each school. The information captured by the survey is designed to support a dialogue among all members of the school community about how to make the school a better place to learn.

The New York State calculation method consists of all students who first entered 9th grade in a given school year (e.g., the Cohort of 2006 entered 9th grade in the 2006-2007 school. In order to comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations on public reporting of education outcomes, rows with fewer than 5 students are suppressed, and replaced with an "s" and for "Transfer School" tab rows with cohorts of 10 or fewer students are suppressed. As of January 1, 2014, the GED test is no longer offered in New York State. The GED has been replaced by the TASC (Test Assessing Secondary Completion) exam which will continue to lead students to a High School Equivalency (HSE) Diploma.

This data presents statistics for students fully, partially, not receiving special education services, related services, and transportation services. Data is categorized by district, superintendent, citywide counts, and percentages.

New York City Department of Education 2016 - 2017 Health Education Report.
Local Law 14 (2016) requires that the NYCDOE provide citywide Health Education data, disaggregated by community school district, city council district, and each individual school. Data reported in this report is from the 2016-17 school year.
This report provides information about the number and percent of students scheduled for at least one semester of health education as defined in Local Law 14 as reported through the STARS database. It is important to note that schools self-report their scheduling information in STARS.

This file shows average class size for each borough, aggregated by grade and program type. For grades 5-9 (where available) and 9-12, the data are shown by program type and core course.
