This data includes the name and location of food service establishments and the violations that were found at the time of their last inspection. Although violation details are collected on inspection reports (i.e., the actual food item, quantity and temperature of food found out of temperature control) as well as corrective actions for critical violations, this data set is limited to the violation number and the corresponding general violation description. This dataset is for reporting purposes only. Any concerns about individual establishments should be referred to the corresponding Local Health Department.

Annual compliance filings for high and low pressure boilers installed in buildings.

The Department of Buildings’ Boiler Unit oversees the installation and operation of New York City’s boilers. Property owners are responsible for ensuring that their boilers operate safely and are in compliance with the Building Code and all related regulations.

This is an official DOHMH dataset. The Health Department does not endorse datasets using these data that may be created by others. The dataset contains the self-inspections of drinking water tanks that have been reported to the DOHMH through the NYC Drinking Water Tank Inspection Reporting Site [https://www.nyc.gov/site/doh/business/permits-and-licenses/drinking-water-tank-inspection-reporting.page] by a certified water tank inspector on behalf of the building owner. Submissions of 0 Drinking Water Tanks are not displayed in this dataset.

The Open Restaurants Inspections dataset contains records of site setup inspections performed throughout the five boroughs of New York City.

This data includes the name and location of inactive food service establishments and the violations that were found at the time of the inspection. Inactive food service establishments include only establishments that are no longer in business or have not operated for an extended period of time. Inspections are a “snapshot” in time and are not always reflective of the day-to-day operations and overall condition of an establishment. This dataset is refreshed on a monthly basis.

Tracks dismissal inspection requests and results from property owners who repairs their sidewalk privately.

The dataset contains every sustained or not yet adjudicated violation citation from every full or special program inspection conducted up to three years prior to the most recent inspection for restaurants and college cafeterias in an active status on the RECORD DATE (date of the data pull). When an inspection results in more than one violation, values for associated fields are repeated for each additional violation record. Establishments are uniquely identified by their CAMIS (record ID) number. Keep in mind that thousands of restaurants start business and go out of business every year; only restaurants in an active status are included in the dataset.
Records are also included for each restaurant that has applied for a permit but has not yet been inspected and for inspections resulting in no violations. Establishments with inspection date of 1/1/1900 are new establishments that have not yet received an inspection. Restaurants that received no violations are represented by a single row and coded as having no violations using the ACTION field.
Because this dataset is compiled from several large administrative data systems, it contains some illogical values that could be a result of data entry or transfer errors. Data may also be missing.

This dataset includes cooling tower regulatory inspection results from the NYC Health Department’s Office of Building Water Systems Oversight (BWSO).

The dataset includes results from two inspection types: cycle or non-cycle. Cycle inspections are regular compliance inspections conducted by BWSO to confirm adherence with cooling tower regulations. Non-cycle may include follow-up inspections or other regulatory inspections to evaluate public health risks.Cooling tower systems that are compliant at the time of inspection have the inspection date with blank values for the violation and citation columns. Building owners that are subject to financial penalties for a cited violation receive a notice of violation with a summons number, as shown in the dataset. The Office of Administrative Trial and Hearings (OATH) adjudicates the summons.

Hearing status and adjudication result are shown separately in the Cooling Tower Hearings dataset (a subset of the OATH Hearings Division Case Status dataset). The summons number in this dataset corresponds with the ticket number field in the Cooling Towers Hearings dataset.

Risk Assessments are sub-components of Inspection records where Type = Level 2. Trees are inspected in accordance with Parks' Tree Risk Management program. For a given defect identified on a tree, 3 rating variables are selected to arrive at a Total Rating. Because multiple defects can be noted on a tree, multiple Risk Assessment records can be related to one Inspection.

DOT's Highway Inspection & Quality Assurance (HIQA) enforces the laws and rules that govern the way utilities, plumbers, contractors, other governmental agencies, and property owners perform work on the City's sidewalks, roadways and highways. DOT's inspectors also review work sites for compliance with permit stipulations, and issue violations when they find non-compliance with the laws and rules.

This dataset includes the name and location of active mobile home parks operating in New York State. Active mobile home parks include only parks that were categorized as active (i.e., operating with accommodations for the placement of five or more mobile or manufactured homes) on the date the data was downloaded from a Department of Health database. This data also includes the date of the last inspection and violations of Part 17 of the New York State Code of Rules and Regulations that were identified during that inspection. Additionally, the data includes the park owner-operator, the number of sites within the park, the type of on-site water source and sewage disposal system serving the mobile home park, and whether a pool or beach is operated as part of the mobile home park. The location of the mobile home park includes its street address, city, state, zip code, municipality, and county.

Inspections has halted since March 2020.
DOT field inspectors conduct inspections and issue tickets in real-time to the Bike Share system operator according to service level agreements. Stations, kiosks, docks, and bicycles are checked.

Encroachments System tracks actions taken in response to 311 complaints, and inspections requested by property owners.

This dataset includes the name and location of active Temporary Residences operating in New York State. Active Temporary Residences include only facilities that were categorized as active (i.e., hotel, motel, or cabin colony occupied by or maintained for the occupancy by 11 people or more) on the date the data was downloaded from a Department of Health database. This data also includes the date of the last inspection and violations of Subpart 7-1 of the New York State Code of Rules and Regulations that were identified during that inspection. Additionally, the data includes the Temporary Residence owner-operator, building type, number of sleeping rooms within the facility, and whether a pool, beach, or food service establishment is operated as part of the facility. The location of the Temporary Residence includes its street address, city, state, zip code, municipality, and county.

DOT's Commercial Bicyclist Unit (CBU) conducts inspections of businesses that use bicycles for commercial purposes. This dataset lists the results of those inspections.
