The New York City Work and Family Leave Survey (WFLS), conducted in March 2016, was a telephone survey of New York City residents who gave birth in 2014. Its goal was to improve understanding about the availability and accessibility of paid family leave to working parents. The WFLS also sought to describe the role that paid family leave policies play in achieving health equity for parents and children. The WFLS was made possible through funding by the U.S. Department of Labor Women’s Bureau.

The Department of Consumer and Worker Protection's Office of Labor Policy & Standards (OLPS) protects workers and enforces local labor laws that help ensure a fair workplace for all persons working in the City, and to ensure they can realize their rights.

This dataset provides a list of all worker complaints under the Fair Workwek and Paid Safe and Sick Leave laws that, after preliminary investigation, were taken up by OLPS attorneys as an enforcement matter.

The dataset provides the list of inquiries received by DCWP’s Office of Labor Policy & Standards (OLPS).

OLPS is NYC’s central resource for workers. OLPS is charged to protect and promote labor standards and policies that create fair workplaces to ensure all workers can realize their rights, regardless of immigration status. OLPS takes complaints about workplace laws and investigates claims under those laws, such as the Paid Safe and Sick Leave Law. For other issues, OLPS connects workers to relevant government agencies, legal service providers, and resources to help them access and protect their rights and get critical services.
